Description The University Libraries, Department for Information Technologies (I-Tech) seeks a highly motivated IT Support Specialist to join its User Support and Operations unit. Responsibilities include: leading the emerging technologies support in the Libraries, recommending and evaluating new technologies and actively pursuing opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies in the Libraries. Providing support to the University Park Libraries branch locations with their end-user technologies, supporting and ensuring proper operation of standard and non-standard software and hardware for PC, Mac and Linux systems for faculty, staff and student/public users.

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong commitment to customer service, excellent problem-solving, analysis and critical thinking skills, exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills, the ability to learn new things quickly and independently, a strong commitment to diversity, equity, respect and inclusion, and high performance in a team environment are required. Proficient knowledge in analyzing Windows desktop OS, Mac OS X, is required. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a rapidly evolving environment where tools and technologies may change quickly and problems rarely have clearly defined solutions. Evening or weekend work may be required depending on the demands of the position during high volume time periods, and will be subject to change during semester and summer breaks.
